    What kind of implant?

Yeah, if any of that right ear is conductive, which I'm guessing it is, you'll want the extra power.

That's an unusual loss. How'd it happen?

You could fit the left with a standard receiver, but you need a super power for the right. It could be fit with a power, but you'd be riding the edge a bit.

The high-end signia CICs do binaural beam forming, or so claim the reps. At this point, I think they are the only CICs that do.

Narrow directionality is a four mic function, so uses both ears....

I have repaired a bunch of these watches, but they are getting a bit obscolete. I'm surprised people are still using them to control their hearing aids.

I should have realized what induction meant.

Try to get the BTE. You're likely going to need a bit more power than someone with a similar sensorineural loss would need.

What was it about the analogue that you missed? Digital aids can be set up to be pretty linear.

I imagine that your chances to even get ahold of an analogue are shrinking dramatically every year....

For all that Oticon talks about "brain hearing", the Opn sound is highly, highly processed.

I responded to this this morning and it was lost to the internet gremlins, so now I have to try to remember what I wrote.

Interaural time difference needs to be between two ears. Having a time delay between a sound hitting one ear and then hitting the same ear again would not be used for localization. The brain would...

If you took a bunch of 15 year olds with perfect hearing, on average their threshold at each pitch would be 0 dB HL. Across the field, 20 dB HL is generally considered "normal". So you've got normal...

I agree. What's the disagreement? I don't know where this guy lives. In some places it can be hard to get *two* implants, so I suggested the aid for the other ear. I don't know how long he has to...
