I have just been informed by Amazon that many sizes of Zn/Air batteries from PowerOne (e.g. both the p312 and p13 that I recently ordered) have been recalled over safety concerns: https://www.gov.uk/drug-device-alert...or-if-depleted and https://assets.digital.cabinet-offic...A-2016-003.pdf
Effected batteries have expiration dates: ’08-2018’ and ‘09-2018’
While explosion is a known risk with Lithium batteries, it surprises me to see this reported for Zn/Air chemistry. The referenced pdf attributes it to excessive gassing of hydrogen.
Although PowerOne batteries are labelled "Made in Germany" they appear to be manufactured in China.
