Thread: Online Video Cationing Pet Peeve!

Thumbs down Online Video Cationing Pet Peeve!

Especially facebook. All these new technologies and we turn the capabilities back 20 years. First it was the finger-pointing over digital TV and which devices provided the closed captioning ... and now so many online sources of video content do not include captions. Thankfully YouTube has "some", but facebook has a big fat ZERO. I don't even think it's on their radar. How do we convince them to at least offer a button on the video???

    My Aids:
2003 - Unitron Conversa - lots of features, poor audio quality. Rejected.
2003 - Sonic Natura 2se - have been happy with them, kept.

2012 - Unitron Moxi 6 - had basically same reaction as Conversa. Rejected.
2012 - Sonic Velocity 12 - Good sound quality, good basic no-frills aid. These are my backups! Great price.
2012 - Siemens Motion 701 CIC. Sounded just "OK". Rejected.
2012 - Starkey Wi i110 - Good, kept. (ReSound maybe better?)

Thanks, yes. I am a happy customer of Amazon video which I watch through my Samsung TV as well as a Roku.

A lot of the facebook content is short pieces ripped from other places. What bugs me is that the ones I want to watch, mainly news clips, have no captioning even though I know the original source was. And from the clip there is no way generally to back to the exact source point. It seems facebook is re-hosting the video content (which in itself seems a little dodgy, but...).
