Thread: Oticon offering $150 VISA gift card for purchase of OPN

  1. Default

Same here. I received a $100 and a $50 Visa card today. So looks like the $150 is per customer, not per hearing aid?

Looks like each card has a $5.95 "Activation" fee when you use it the first time.
Can somebody who's familiar with VISA gift cards clarify this activation fee for us?

On the top right under the $100, it says "+$5.95 Purchasing Charge", and at the bottom right, under "Vanilla VISA Gift Card" it says "No fees after purchase".

It looks like Rocketmahn is assuming that WE (the recipients) will have to pay the $5.95 the first time we use the card, hence reducing its real value to $94.05.

I, on the other hand, interpret this to mean that when Oticon bought the $100 gift card to send us, they actually paid VISA $105.95 already, which includes the $5.95 when they purchased the gift card for us. The fact that it says "No fees after purchase." implies that we the recipients don't pay any other fee, and the "purchase" here refers to the purchase of the gift card by Oticon to give to us, whereby they already paid the $5.95 and we don't pay that fee.

Which is the correct interpretation? Anybody knows for sure? Thanks.

I guess we'll know for sure when we use it as well...

Yeah, apparently only $150 whether you bought 1 or 2 OPNs.

Another note to add is that I bought my OPNs on 11/3. The T&C seems to say that the qualifying period is 11/29/2016 through end of May 2017. I applied anyway (actually I applied before I knew about the T&C) and I got the $150 gift cards as well. My point is that don't exclude yourself and assume that you don't qualify if you bought before 11/29/2016. They gave it to me anyway, yay!!!

I used one VISA card and Volusiano is correct. I could spend the full face value of the card ($50).
Also I encourage you to apply even if you bought prior to the incentive date.
