If you want to know for sure, the Audi can read the hearing aid serial numbers in smart fit and see if they changed.

So of course my take-away from this is "the cases are replaceable". I'm now trying to figure out if I can get a set of empty shells and get them painted to match my smurf blue M4, a yield sign, or some other nice bright color.

I've been away from the forum for a few years. This thread caught my attention though, as I received a pair of LiNX 3Ds earlier this week. They are substantially better than my previous top-of-the-line Versas, but how much is hard to tell. There are a few interesting new options that I'm already enjoying but it is obviously too early to make any firm judgement. Here are some random observations, that reflect using the Android phone app and a multi-mic.
    1. Speech clarity is very good. In the default mode one can select Noise Filter or Speech Clarity. Then accept the defaults or change Base, Middle, or Treble through a continuous range.
    2. In Restaurant mode, one can change through a broad range of noise suppression.
    3. A 'Favorite' group of settings for a frequently-encountered circumstance can be named and saved, when it will appear in the row of programs.
    4. In a restaurant, one can elect to suppress the aids and just receive the signal from the multi-mic. That already seems useful.

As for the remote programming. This is very slick. Within hours of leaving the Audiologist's office (20 min. freeway drive away with clear traffic)it was obvious that the default volume was set too low. I requested a change (from the phone app) and received it on the app within the hour. The app takes one through the request for a change, and then its installation (that part took all of 1 min).

This is not my first rodeo, as I've been wearing aids for many years - Belltone, Oticon, Phonak, Siemens, Resound etc. This is a clear advance. Each user (and provider) will have to judge just how good it is?

You know that ReSound won't service hearing aids purchased from Buyhear.com, right? See the letter on this page:

I am glad to hear your positive comments since I have had nothing but problems with my 3D linx. Right now it has been returned and it is hopefully being fixed. Have you had any problems with the connection between your aids and the android phone? Mine would always loss connection and I would have to re-install the app. I heard the apple app is better but hope the android one will be just as good. Are you sorry you do not have program buttons on your aids instead of the phone? I'd love to hear your feedback. Thanks.

I just started a trial today for the Linx 3D 9's. I have to say that the iPhone integration is phenomenal. Worked flawlessly through 3-4 phone meetings and conference calls. Their iPhone app is also very solid compared to the competition. The only negative things that I have noticed so far is that my iPhone 7 Plus battery drained a bit faster than usual. Second issue issue is that it scares the crap out of me every time the phone rings...hehe.

Speech clarity is very good but I haven't tested it in a restaurant yet. That will be the ultimate test.

Does anyone have anything they can share about how well these work for you in a noisy environment? I currently wear Costco KS5 (similar to Resound Verso) and to me their performance in noise is a weakness.

I know that ReSound CLAIMS that; however, they have never denied a warranty claim, and BuyHear says they would back their customers regardless. This is more FUD from the audiologist contingent here.
