When I got my 105dB custom molds recently, they come with vents. But my audi gave me a pair of plugs that goes into the vent but it has its own smaller hole. So I wouldn't be too concerned about your audi choosing a vented earmold. It may just come that way by default without your audi having to specify it like that. The assumption may be that you'd just plug up the vent if it's too big to your liking.

One thing I was told is that if I use the plug (it goes on the inside canal end), don't cut it off too flush with the mold because it'd be virtually impossible to take it out afterward. You'd want to leave enough hanging out so you can grab and pull it out if you change your mind.
Thanks for sharing. Do you wear these plugs on your earmolds on a daily basis? Can you kindly share pictures or a model number that I can google?

Also is there a way to pre-order Connect Clip now? I'm afraid my insurance payments coverage won't apply in the future so pre-order would be a good workaround.

Sorry I just added to my previous post that I didn't even need to use any plug on my customer molds even though their vent holes are bigger than my bass dome's vent holes. And I also didn't have to run the feedback program on the custom molds, while I had to use the feedback program on my bass domes.

I'm not aware that you can pre-order the Connect Clip, but maybe it's something you can work out with your audi between yourself. The problem is there's no price announced for it either.

having a vent or a closed mold makes a huge difference, also the software will calculate the mids differently when being configured to closed molds.

Just plugging them up without changing the software isn't the same...

The clear acrylic mold is hollowed out inside to allow room to insert the receiver inside, but it's not enclosed/sealed up 100%. They design a port door on the outside that can be opened so that the receiver can be removed and replaced without having to make another mold if the receiver goes bad.
just saw your pics in another thread, you have the same molds I have. The receiver is held in the shell and wires are attached to the exchangable attachment wire, there's no door to open and get the receiver out there with a tool, you can only change the wire going into the mold.

I'm not sure if we're talking about the same thing. There is a plastic +sign tool to pop miniFit receivers out of their molds http://www.hearingaidforums.com/show...con-Micro-Mold

^you can clearly see that the wire in the pic isn't attached to the receiver like in that video. there's wires coming from the receiver to the clip. and the clip only holds the detachable wire to the HA.

105dB receivers aren't removable by clips like in that video. he has the same as me, and they are solid in the mold. that sort of powermold in the video is only for receivers up to 100dB.

edit: we also both have a normal filters at the end of our molds, the video has a clip like filter/thing on that end. just trust me.

Let me also post the pics here so everyone can see and don't have to search for the other post.

For what it's worth, my audi was on the phone with Oticon support and she asked them if my receivers are removable from the mold or not and they told her yes, if she has the right tool. But I'm not too sure if I can trust them over Gery R's words because Gery_R is an owner of one and Oticon Support is not.

in the 1st pic you can see how wires from the receiver are coming out, those are several that connect to the clip in which the 1 wire coming from the HA ends in. so the 1 wire isn't connected to the receiver like other rics, the 1 wire and those from the receiver meet at the other end of the mold. only that wire clip is interchangable.

there's basically an interface that will connect both types of wires with each other, it's not 1 single unit like a normal receiver with 1 big wire. and that's why you can't simply clip the receiver in and out.
