    Default Tinnitus examples

My tinnitus is really bothersome. White noise maskers offer no relief, and "trying not to focus" is wearisome.
Mine is most like example #9

(Not sure if I am posting the link correctly, there's a sidebar on the left under 'Try our tests' -look for tinnitus examples)

If one of these sound clips sort of matches your tinnitus, try playing it at a loud volume for your audiologist and your family members who can't identify with your trouble.

I went to your website. My tinitus is most like #9. I didn't realize there were so many different versions of it that people experience. I've learned to live with mine at this point. However, my HA"s are only at 50% right now, so it will be interesting to see what it's like once they are at 100%.

    Thanks for sharing the link.

Another #9 here. Luckily I can generally ignore it during the day, and a white noise machine keeps my mind off it at night.

FWIW, none of the simulations sound like what I hear and the last few were really faint (my wife said they were screeching). I used to describe my tinnitus as sounding like crickets but that's not really accurate although I cannot think of a better example. Occasionally I get the sound of a small bell (just a few dings). And sometimes I hear what sounds like a motor such as the furnace blower.
