How to get into the hearing aid industry?

Hi all,

My audiologist keeps asking me to consider joining the industry as a manufacturers representative. I have been working in food manufacturing for 10 years and have had a very successful career to date.

However - I don't love it, and the idea of working in a way to help other people with hearing difficulties like me appeals.

I am not an audiologist. I would love to talk to anyone who works for a manufacturer to understand if my current skills could fit anywhere.

You need some industry experience. Some manufacturers will train, some only hire audiologists, some want dispensing experience. Tell your audiologist to put you in touch with the people hiring. Outside reps do a lot of traveling.

Audiology online has a jobs section that has some rep positions open. You can go to each manufacturer website and they should have a section where job openings are posted.
