Default Intricon Aids...what's up?

I am considering the purchase of two Power Aids from Hi Health Innovations that sell/process aids for their parent company, United healthcare. Has anyone had any experience with these aids. My insurance will cover two new aids a year for the co-pay of $680. Sounds great if they are good aids and provide me the sound quality I need for profound loss. I guess for $680 they could become a backup pair if they don't make the "A" team. My biggest concern is everthing has to be done through the mail. You provide a hearing test, they program and mail out your aids. My concern, what about tweeking and adjustments that are often needed. Anyway my thoughts, any info out there would be helpful.

Good Luck. What UHC is doing is unethical and screwing their members. If you have a problem there is nobody to see. You call an 800 and speak to a call center, who after each question you ask they put you on hold and they ask someone else what you should do. I agree they might make a good backup. I can think of better things to do with $680.

If you are looking for a set up backups at a good price I recommend talking to a local audiologist about Sonic Innovations "Velocity". They have some kind of summer sale going on right now that's killer.

2003 - Sonic Natura 2se - have been happy with them, kept.
:
2012 - Unitron Moxi 6 - had basically same reaction as Conversa. Rejected.
2012 - Sonic Velocity 12 - Good sound quality, good basic no-frills aid. These are my backups! Great price.
2012 - Siemens Motion 701 CIC. Sounded just "OK". Rejected.
2012 - Starkey Wi i110 - Good, kept. (ReSound maybe better?)

We would like to respond to the questions and comments in today's post regarding hi HealthInnovations hearing aids and related services. While it is true that you can submit a hearing test and you may receive the hearing aids via mail, there is support behind the program that should be mentioned. We employ field staff across the country that see patients in-person when possible. These same field staff (made up of both doctoral level audiologists and hearing instrument specialists) oversee the individual orders that are submitted through our corporate headquarters, and will reach out to patients who are beyond reach due to distance. All of the hearing aids are programmed using a prescriptive method that is used world-wide, with some flexibility in different memories to help the individual user decide the best setting. Other support services include hearing aid user orientation phone calls and counseling in-person and on the phone. The focus of the hi HealthInnovations program is to address the tremendous need for providing appropriate state-of-the-art hearing aids to individuals who need them. Our customer service team does an incredible job of handling many phone calls and they also reach out to the hearing healthcare professionals whenever expertise is needed. If you need further information, please call us at 855 523 9355 or visit our website.

From the post on this site, the field reps do not exist. It sounds nice to say you have reps seeing patients, in person, after all that is how hearing aids are meant to be fit. I am still waiting for someone to come on this site and say they have been serviced.

We at hiHealthInnovations encourage our patients to let others know about their success stories with the aids. Of course, we do not know who amongst our customers is a member of this listserve. Some of the postings on this site are a bit outdated, however, and the field staff has grown since our official opening this past year. Customer testimonials about the service of our field professionals are also available on our website.

Thank you!

Cosmo,
Where are you coming from?
Have you had any personal experience with Hi HealthInnovations and the hearing aids?

I have an appointment this coming Wednesday with a local audiologist who is representing Hi Innovations.
I have her photo, know her name and see her experience from their Web site.
I really want to hear others experiences and share information about the aids.
Cosmo ,
If you have a personal"Ax to Grind", please don't do it hear by providing misinformation.
I have some issues, I would like to discuss about them.
But, I hope there are some who can write from personal experience.

Thanks,
