Default Adhear Wax Guards

Has anyone tried Adhear wax guards with their ITC or ITE aids? They are essentially tiny band-aids made of an acoustically transparent material that you tape over the receiver opening to keep out wax and other debris. I have been using Phonak Smart Guards with my Phonak Xtra ITE's , but I have been having so much trouble inserting and removing them that I am looking for an alternative. So I'm wondering whether using Adhear wax guards instead would be effective and provide at least some measure of protection. And at $10 for a package of ten, they are a lot cheaper than Smart Guards, which cost $15 for a package of six. Thanks for any feedback. Gerald
